Discover the unique properties of Krkonoše peat at Lázně Bělohrad

Lázně Bělohrad Sdružení lázeňských měst

In the tranquil foothills of the highest Czech mountain range, amid hills dotted with distinctive cottages, lies Lázně Bělohrad. For over 125 years the locals have been utilizing the special qualities of the natural resources at their disposal, treating people with a variety of ailments and health problems. So come to this spa set amid unspoilt landscapes to enjoy a course of very effective treatment, a tranquil atmosphere and pure mountain air that’ll have you right as rain in no time!

The basis of all the success achieved at this spa is a thick deposit of peat, which gave rise to the Anenské mud spa. The spa is named after a Prussian princess who conducted experiments with the local peat. Today adults and children are treated here for muscular-skeletal disease as well as neurological, gynaecological and skin complaints.

Let yourself be pampered with real gold!

Proof of the high standards maintained at the spa is the fact that it was the first in Europe to be awarded a EUROSPA med quality certificate by the European Spa Union in Brussels. This is a guarantee that you’ll be receiving the highest standard of care in a special atmosphere of comfort and tranquillity. Lázně Bělohrad has focused for many years on the treatment of children. The children’s department deals with muscular-skeletal issues using special methods such as sensomotoric stimulation, the Vojta reflex method, breathing exercises and yoga. The staff at Lázně Bělohrad have also come up with some truly delightful wellness treats. For instance, let yourself be pampered with oriental procedures invented for Indonesian princesses – your body and face coated in exclusive creams containing 24-carat gold or with a caviar mix. Massage using hot chocolate or gold powder will have you in seventh heaven.

Lázně Bělohrad – a year-round place

Finished your spa procedures for the morning and don’t know what to do with the rest of the day? Well, you could take a walk to the local Baroque chateau, built by the Czech-Italian architect genius, Jan Blažej Santini Aichel. If you prefer cultural events, there’s a wide choice of things to do in Bělohrad all year round. In May, for instance, you can attend events to mark the beginning of the spa season, and in June there’s an international folk festival.

Where next?

Would you believe it if we said that a simple reservoir could be a soothing place for the body and soul? Well, head for Království Wood. The elegant turrets adorning the dam make this one of the most attractive pieces of technical heritage in the Czech Republic. If during you time at the spa you develop the urge to experience the African savannah, head for the famous Safari in Dvůr Králové featuring freely roaming wild animals. One of the most attractive Baroque complexes in the country can also be found at Kuks.
