The church ranks among the most valuable examples of the late Gothic architecture in the Czech Republic dating from the turn of the 14th and 15th century. Its ninety-two-meter tall tower is terminated by a characteristic needle-shaped spire. Inside the church there is a tomb of Louis Raduit de Souches, the military commander who was credited with the successful defence of the city against the Swedish besiegement during the Thirty Years’ War. An extensive ossuary has been discovered in the ground underneath the church.
