The castle was for a long-time in ruins and only at the end of the 19th century the owners decided to undertake a general reconstruction. Installation of a water main, hot air heating system, equipping of bathrooms and a personal lift were a part of the refurbishments.
Why visit
The complex castle with rich decoration ranging from Gothic to Art Nouveau styles is a typical example of the method of restoration of old historical buildings in the Romantic spirit of the 19th century. Opulent furnishing was mostly brought in from inaccessible North Moravian chateaux.
