National Museum

The historical building of the National Museum is closed for reconstruction until at least 2018. When it reopens, the newly reconstructed building will have not just expositions but also pleasant places to relax, a café, an interactive learning centre, and a dome with views of the city. Of course, the National Museum has a number of branches located throughout Prague. At the Náprstek Museum you can explore the cultures of the original inhabitants of Australia or learn about coin mintage in Mexico. At the Czech Museum of Music you can discover the magic of self-playing musical instruments (automatophones). At the Ethnographical Museum you will see traditional Czech folk costumes.
