Velichovky, a village whose spa has a history going back over one hundred years, is situated in fertile countryside 20 kilometres from Hradec Králové. In 1897, peat (peloid) with a unique chemical composition was discovered here. This led to the foundation of the spa, which has become very popular with visitors and tourists.
