Enjoy winter on the slopes of the Černá hora Ski Resort

One of the longest pistes, the only eight-seat gondola in the Czech Republic, an adrenaline-inducing toboggan run, and more than 70 kilometres of cross-country trails. All of this can be found at the Černá hora (meaning Black Mountain) Ski Resort in the eastern part of the Krkonoše Mountains. Just pack your skis or snowboard and head here to enjoy active movement, long downhill slopes, and beautiful views of the Krkonoše landscape.

The Černá hora Ski Resort connects the ski areas in Janské Lázně, Černý důl and Svoboda nad Úpou. Together they offer a total of 20 kilometres of slopes, four chairlifts and 22 ski lifts. You can comfortably shuttle among the individual areas by ski bus.

Down to the valley on skis or a toboggan

At the ski area in Janské Lázně you can choose from 14 ski slopes with a total length of over 11 kilometres. You reach the mountain top in the only eight-seat gondola in the Czech Republic. If you want to try something really fun, try the 3.5-kilometre toboggan run with a climb of 560 metres.

Find everything you have forgotten

Do you like to have plenty of room to practice your moves? You’ll find lots of space on the slopes of Černý důl. There are nine downhill slopes, a snow park with obstacles, and a modernly equipped park for children. All this in a romantic and peaceful setting. The ski area in Svoboda nad Úpou is an ideal place for winter fun with the whole family. All of the ski areas, of course, offer equipment rental, a ski school with trained instructors, and also an abundance of lodgings and places to satisfy your taste buds.

Where else to go?

How to warm up nicely after a pleasant day on the slopes? The Černá hora Ski Resort is connected with the spa town of Janské Lázně. This was the first place in Europe to begin treating cerebral palsy. Relax in the local thermal pool, stroll through the town centre with its beautiful colonnade, or set off from here on cross-country skis to the source of the Elbe or to the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, Sněžka. You can also easily get to Pec pod Sněžkou, another popular winter resort right in the heart of beautiful Krkonoše countryside.
