Burgenstrasse: a castle trail from Germany to Bohemia

Burgenstrasse (Castle Trail) is indelibly inscribed on the map of European sightseeing routes. Originally a 320-kilometre trail, it now extends 1,200 kilometres from Germany into the Czech Republic. It enjoys great popularity with tourists in these two countries and beyond. The Czech portion of the Castle Trail, consisting of thirteen castles and chateaux and one monastery, runs between Cheb and Prague. Specifically, it includes the following charming places: Cheb Castle, Kynžvart Chateau, Bečov Castle and Chateau, Sokolov Chateau, Loket Castle, Teplá Monastery, Švihov Water Castle, Nebílovy Chateau, Kozel Chateau, Hořovice Chateau, the adjoining Žebrák and Točník castles, Karlštejn Castle, Křivoklát Castle and Prague Castle.
