One of the most important European collections of Rita and Herbert Batliner together with works from the Albertina will be presenting a collection of 80 works of modern global art including a selection of pivotal works from the start of the 20th century right through to works from the first decade of the 21st century in the National Gallery in Prague.

This exceptionally high quality collection of works includes pictures such as the famous Monet’s Water Lilies, works by Les Fauves H. Matisse, P. Bonnard, work by the German expressionists of E. L. Kirchner, representatives of the Russian avant-garde El Lisický, K. Malevič and the surrealism of R. Magritte or M. Ernst; from the post-war period you can see works by prominent artists from the world of European and American art of the second half of the 20th century with works by J. Dubuffet, Y. Klein, F. Bacon, R. Lichtenstein, A. Warhol and from the absolutely contemporary A. Kiefer, A. Katz and others. Characteristic for this collection is the fact that it is usually represented by the artists’ masterpieces. The exhibition is an exceptional event in the Czech cultural environment.
