Concert by the pianist Lang Lang

31/03/2012 - 31/03/2012 < Back
Location: Spanish Hall, Prague Castle
Organizer: Akademie klasické hudby, o.p.s.

The eminent Chinese pianist Lang Lang, who among other things also performed at the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, will be playing in March in the Spanish Hall of Prague Castle. A charity concert will be held here for the Dvořák Prague International Festival of Classical Music. The Antonín Dvořák 2012 prizes will be awarded over the course of the evening.
This project awards personalities who have had great merit in promotion of Czech classical music.

Lang Lang himself is a young Chinese pianist who has received offers of contracts in almost all of the philharmonic orchestras in the world. His illustrious career was already beginning to develop at the age of 17, when he was invited as a stand-in to the “gala concert of the century” in terms of the Ravinia Festival. His star has continued to rise since that time.
Thanks to his youth he knows how hard things are for gifted artists who are just starting out, and this is why he devotes his time to working with children and for children. He has even opened a centre for child musicians in China, where they can develop and gain an education in all possible ways.
