Locality:
It is located in the town quarter Krásné Březno on a slope with open meadows and park keeping. Both the upper and the lower parts are accessible by public transport. A children’s ZOO, a restaurant as well as the possibility of buying souvenirs is in the ZOO complex. Parking is situated in front of the lower entrance.

Specialization:
Breeding of exotic animals. The ZOO co-ordinates the European breeding program of Hartmann´s zebras and other species and is a member of committees for breeding of black gibbons and orang-utans. The state quarantine station for imported animals operates here. The ZOO has a significant merit in preservation of the genetic resources by breeding of 71 Hartmann´s zebras. It participates in 25 European preservation programs of the EEP.
Breeds:
286 mammals in 80 species, 179 birds in 44 species, 36 reptiles in 29 species, 19 amphibians in 4 species, 1130 fish in 46 species, 30 invertebrates in 6 species.
The most significant species:
Goffin´s cockatoo, guanaco, Hartmann´s zebra, Somali donkey, Rothschild’s giraffe, rhinoceros, Borneo orang-utan, Indian elephant, lowland anoa and other species. The number of the species listed in the Red Book of endangered animals: 44, the number of the species endangered in Czech nature: 13.

Exotarium, paddocks for lowland anoas, red pandas, rhinoceros and giraffes, Somali donkey, swimming pool for seals, pavilion of apes, pavilion of orang-utans.
Rarity:
Somali donkey is the rarity of the ZOO (it is a very rare animal, living in about 60 pieces only in zoological gardens. The anoa species (ranges to bovid animals) also lives mainly in zoos. The Zoo boasts with the biggest herd of Hartmann´s zebras in Europe (also rarely seen in open nature).
