Town

A mountain plateau with a wooded park, 450 meters above sea level; climate: moderate irritation factor. The park, covering an area of 200 hectares, combines with classical architecture and an absence of industrial pollution or urban traffic makes the town a jewel among Czech spas. Geographical location: the Cheb region.

Natural healing source

Strongly alkaline acidulous mineral waters as well as sulphite/ferrous mud; there are 24 springs in the spa town itself, of which 12 are used for tub baths, inhalations, and a drinking cure. A natural dry source of CO2 (carbon dioxide) is used for gas baths.

Personages, Dates, History:
Kaspar Bruschius discovered the springs near Cheb in 1520-1536.

Georg Agricola, the doctor from Jáchymov, made an analysis of the gas spring.

The curative effects of the springs were confirmed by the analyses in 1565.

MUDr. Adler, the doctor from Cheb initiated the adjustment of the springs in 1785 and in 1791 builds the first spa hall above the Franciscus´s spring. Nine years later the peat treatment begins.

In 1793 Františkovy Lázně have the first spa house.
