Tobias Jan Becker, the bishop of Hradec Králové initiated the construction of the pilgrimage place on the Marian Hill in the 17th century. At that time there were many pilgrims coming to the hill, because according to the legend mysterious shine was radiating from it. The Way of the Cross leads to the church. It is 1,5 km long. The Baroque gate is decorated with the statues of King David, of St. John the Baptist and St. Lucas. The pilgrimage complex has an oblong ground plan, in the middle of which the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady is located. The recent Pseudo-Renaissance equipment of the church dates back to the time around the year 1900. The courtyard in front of the church is surrounded by an ambit with four corner chapels and with little towers. The convent of the former monastery is situated on the back side of the complex. The Building of the Holy Stairs was built on the front courtyard.
