Institute of folk culture
The museum of a southeastern Moravian village has been open to the public since 1981. The visitors can see village complexes, such as Moravské Kopanice, Luhačovické Zálesí, Horňácko, technical water buildings, the complex of viticulture and the complex of meadow agriculture. There are 65 buildings altogether. The exposition of viticulture constructions and their equipment with a vineyard show representing wine-growing since the earliest times till these days, is the only exposition of its kind in the CR. Every year the Institute of Folk Culture organizes festivals and festivities in the complex of the museum, such as May festivities, harvest festivities, presentation of handicraft techniques, programmes for children and the Strážnice International Folklore Festival, which takes place annually, always the last weekend of June. The museum is open since 1st May till 31st October, Tuesdays – Sundays, 8.00 – 17.00 hours.
