Originally a Renaissance chateau, expanded in the Baroque era. From 1664 it served as the summer residence of the bishops of Hradec Králové. The museum collections include exhibits from the fields of natural history, local history, archaeology a arts a crafts. The Episcopal Baroque chapel is dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk. There are wall paintings of exotic locales by A. Machek, dating from 1798. On exhibit is also the facsimile of a giant book – the Codex Gigas.
