The Prague Media Campaign on Expedia

The Prague Media Campaign on Expedia

A media campaign, which was prepared by CzechTourism in cooperation with the City of Prague, will be running during the months of June, July and August on the Expedia.com reservation portal. This cooperation was also supported by Prague Airport and the Czech Association of Hotels and Restaurants together with the hotels, which participated in this campaign.
The aim of this campaign is to present Prague as a holiday alternative in Central Europe and to increase the number of people coming into the city from surrounding destinations.
The campaign on Expedia is focused on the important source tourism markets for the Czech Republic: USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia (Sweden).

Prague will captivate your senses
The City of a Hundred Spires, the Golden City, the Mother of Cities and the Heart of Europe – These are all names for Prague, the largest UNESCO urban conservation area in the world. Prague is also an exciting city that offers a mix of art, music, dance, film and theatre. This gem of original European architecture is a beautiful and romantic city with breathtaking views, quiet gardens, rides on riverboats and relaxing strolls along narrow cobblestone lanes.
Even with its history dating back more than a thousand years, the Czech capital is still a thriving modern city with luxury hotels, excellent restaurants offering traditional Czech and international cuisine, trendy clubs and enchanting pubs.

CzechTourism
The Czech Tourist Authority was founded in 1993 for the purpose of promoting the Czech Republic as an attractive tourist destination on the foreign and - starting in 2003 - also on the domestic market. Domestic tourist regions, towns, municipalities and entrepreneurs are important promotion partners of CzechTourism.
CzechTourism supports the incoming and domestic tourist industry in general and also focuses on promoting the particular branches of the travel industry, such as spas, congress and incentive and also golf tourism. Since 2007 the authority has branched out to include other areas of tourism including historical, adventure and active tours and holidays.

The City of Prague
The City of Prague has 1,300,000 inhabitants and is visited every year by up to 4 million tourists. At the forefront of their interest is the Prague urban conservation area, which spreads out over an area of 866 hectares and is the largest UNESCO urban conservation area in the world. The architecture of Prague has remained intact over the centuries so the city is a varied mixture representing all the historical building styles through the ages. Prague is however also the capital of the Czech Republic, seat of the government and the central authorities as well as a lively, modern and international metropolis with a rich cultural, social and sporting offer.
