Fully 120 years old, it is the most historic and most difficult horse race on the Continent. The “Velká pardubická” has its own specific charm and enchantment: a social and a sporting event with the longest such tradition in the Czech lands. The horses must jump a total of 31 barriers, the most famous of which is the Taxis Ditch, one of the most difficult equine jumps in the world.
