Points of interest

Gay and lesbian venues

Czechs tend to be particularly tolerant to those of a differing sexual orientation, as attested by the presence in Prague of a sizeable number of clubs and bars for a gay and lesbian clientele. A large proportion of these venues are centred around the bordering districts of Vinohrady and Žižkov.

Dance clubs

The most popular dance clubs are Valentino (www.club-valentino.cz), a huge venue on 3 floors which is packed to the rafters at weekends and the smaller Termix (www.club-termix.cz).

Bars and restaurants

Prague - Vinohrady boasts The Saints (www.saintsbar.cz), a small but very friendly bar popular with expats and tourists and Bar 21, a comfortable cellar bar, amongst a number of venues. In the Old Town you can find the ultra modern Friends which hosts frequent parties. It is also worth a trip over the river to Mala Strana to visit the newly renovated Downtown Cafe.
Brno – clubs Áčko (www.acko-brno.cz), Barclub H46 (www.h46.cz), King´s Club, Las Palmas and Scandalcafé.
