Christmas means gifts for our nearest and dearest. Come and do your Christmas shopping in the Czech Republic and choose some traditional and unusual presents that make pleasant surprises for all the folks back home.

Prague – a shopper’s paradise

The Czech capital is truly a Christmas shopper’s heaven. From early December until New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) you can shop till you drop at the city’s Christmas markets.

  • The Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square are packed with decorated stalls. Shoppers can choose from the goods on offer and from a range of cultural events.
  • Příkopy and Pařížská shopping thoroughfares are full of world famous brands
  • Modern shopping centres can be found in the city centre (Flora, Nový Smíchov), as well as in the suburbs (Zličín, Černý most, Chodov, Letňany). All are reached easily by metro.

Olomouc medieval market

Every year during Advent the historical city of Olomouc hosts a medieval market on Horní Square. Here visitors will find stalls and a programme of Christmas events complete with Christmas songs and carols.

Brno

In Brno you can shop for Christmas gifts at classic Christmas markets on Svobody square, as well as in a modern shopping centre called galerie Vaňkova.
