Easter festival of spiritual music 2013

Mar 24, 2013Apr 15, 2013

Six concerts, six churches in Brno and the music of six centuries at the time of the most important Christian festivals.

The festival is traditionally held during Holy Week and Easter Week in six churches in the centre of the city of Brno. The theme for the 22nd year is exodus: the festival commemorates the theme of roots and uprooting, the relationship of the Old and New Testament and also the role of psalms in Christian worship. Rarely performed church compositions by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy will be heard as will Handel’s magnificent oratorio Israel in Egypt.
