The Year of Czech Music is an extraordinary cultural event that since 1924 has commemorated the major figures of Czech music. This includes the 100th anniversary of the death of composer Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904), whose anniversary on May 1st will be recalled by two musical events. In Prague the dramatic musical scenery of Wonderful Dvořák at the Museum of A. Dvořák will reverberate with Dvořák’s most beautiful arias and melodies from the historic salon of Prague Bohemians a hundred years ago. The Marathon of Songs of Antonín Dvořák at the Ostrava Theater of Antonín Dvořák will introduce you to all of Dvořák’s monophonic songs in a single day.
