These festivities commemorate the former fame of Boskovice geese, which were especially prized at the markets of Vienna. You can enjoy goose and duck specialties in local restaurants and in the Château Greenhouse, which also serves as a giant restaurant. In addition, you can enjoy exhibitions, concerts, entertaining shows, events for children, folk crafts market, workshops, demonstrations of basket weaving and making pastry brushes, a contest for visitors to see who can make the best goose, a goosewife competition, and films about raising geese. Naturally, there will be lots of goose fat and other delicacies, and a competitive exhibition between breeders of small animals.
