Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou Chateau Ladislav Renner

Whilst walking through the chateau park, your ears will certainly resonate with the sound of music and the walls of the monumental Baroque chateau are infused with it too. This is to say that one of the chateau’s owners, the well-travelled and educated Jan Adam of Questenberk, filled every corner of it with the music he devoted himself to at the end of the 17th century. The first Czech opera “How the City of Jaroměřice was Founded” by Antonín Míča was even first performed here in 1730. Whilst viewing the chateau, you will see not only music rooms, but also a ballroom, Chinese-style office and sala terrena with adjacent Roman baths. The musical history of the chateau continues today with the Peter Dvorský International Opera Festival regularly being held here.
