Děčín Chateau

Děčín Chateau: Beauty rejuvenated in its original form

Discover the colourful past of Baroque/neo-Classical Děčín Chateau, which rises above the confluence of the Elbe and Ploučnice rivers. One of the most noteworthy historical sights in North Bohemia was a military fort and residence of prominent aristocratic families; it was even visited by a series of European rulers and artists, and Fréderic Chopin composed his Děčínský Waltz here. Extensive renovation means you now have the chance to see the chateau in all its former glory. You can stroll in the courtyard, see the Baroque stables and chateau cellars, and let yourself be wooed by the Rose Garden. You can also enjoy the atmosphere of the regular chateau evenings with music. So come on down! We’re open all year round!
