Czech smallest ZOO is situated on a plain on the banks of Munický Lake close to the chateau Hluboká, which creates a romantic panorama of the surrounding landscape. The ZOO complex offers pleasant walks with numerous possibilities to buy refreshment and souvenirs. Parking is situated in front of the entrance gate.

Fauna of the Czech Republic. The ZOO has a significant merit in preservation of the genetic resources by the re-introduction of bird species. It participates in 3 European preservation programs of the EEP.

59 mammals in 20 species, 278 birds in 86 species, 23 reptiles in 8 species.
The most significant species:
Greenish tortoise, macaw ararauna, raven, brown bear, black stork, ashy rowan, reverie otter. The number of the breeding species listed in the Red Book of endangered animals: 3, the number of the breeding species endangered in Czech nature: 19.
