It is the region of charming lowlands and mountain massifs.

A wide range of tourist products is prepared to satisfy every visitor of the eastern Bohemia. Beautiful nature and healthy environment of lowlands, foothills as well as mountains is ideal for active tourism. Attractive tourist target places are the result of long tradition of this region with many anonymous as well as famous personages.

Characteristics of the region

The area along the Labe River is mainly plain with warm climate a lot of occasions for bathing, water sports, walking tours or cycling. Adršpašsko-teplické skály (Adršpašsko-tepliceké Rocks) became a unique natural reserve; Orlické hory and the area of Kralický Sněžník are attractive for winter sports and mountain tourism. Agro-tourism, mainly orientated towards traditional horse breeding has been developing on the whole territory of the region. Eastern Bohemia abounds in castles, chateaux, forts and fortifications, town conservation reserves and numerous other attractive sights, built in the styles of Renaissance,  Baroque and Art Nouveau. Modern architecture from the period between the World Wars can be seen in the region as well. The visitors can also learn about folk and folklore tradition including handcrafts. We can follow the traces of M.B.Brown. J.Gočár, B.Smetana, B.Martinů and many other world-famous personalities or enjoy rich offers of spa stays and congresses, including social, cultural and sport events.

Transport accessibility

Main roads of the European system: Praha – Hradec Králové – Náchod, Hradec Králové – Svitavy – Olomouc (Brno), Hradec Králové – Šumperk – Ostrava. The east-Bohemian integrated transport system between Hradec Králové and Pardubice combines municipal, railway and bus transportation. High-speed railway corridor: Praha – Pardubice – (Brno) – Ostrava. Main railways: Praha – Hradec Králové – Lichkov (Poland).
