The most famous pilgrimage place of Prague and the most popular pilgrimage place of Bohemia is the Church of Our Lady Victorious. This less noticeable Early Baroque church is situated in the Karmelitská Street in Malá Strana (Little Quarter). The figure of the Holy Infant, world-famous as “Bambini di Praga” draws the main attention of the visitors. It has been enshrined on the right side altar since 1628. The Renaissance wax effigy comes from Spain. Polyxena of Lobkowicz has presented it to the Carmelites. The coronation of the Holy Infant took place in the church in 1655. The effigy is enshrined in a silver case and its wardrobe contains many precious embroidered and decorated coats of various colours. Austrian Empress Maria Theresa embroidered the most precious of them.
