Let yourself be pampered at Prague’s wellness resorts

Has the Baroque glory of the Lesser Quarter’s palaces become too much for you? Is your head spinning from the view from the Old Town Tower or you can’t feel your legs from your many strolls across idyllic Charles Bridge? What about slowing down for a moment, plunging yourself into a world of fragrance and relaxation and giving Prague’s many spa and wellness facilities a go? Top-notch services in elegant surroundings and luxurious facilities await, as well as lazy moments that will recharge those batteries for further exploration of “Golden Prague’s” glorious sights.

During a stay in Prague why not treat yourself to some indulgent pampering? You could try unwinding during Indonesian rituals at the Hotel Alchymist, a coffee scrub at the Le Palais hotel, beauty programmes at the Four Seasons hotel or a swim at the dream pool belonging to the Boscolo Prague hotel. You can also enjoy a complete relaxation session at the only spa in the world housed in a Renaissance chapel (at the Mandarin Oriental hotel). Or perhaps you don’t want to just relax but do something for your health? Then pay a visit to the Soul Spa wellness centre in the Prague suburb of Chodov, where therapists can recommend the best type of massage and other procedures aimed at easing certain health concerns.

An exotic way to recharge

Do you like a bit of the exotic? Well, treat yourself to some in the heart of Europe by visiting Thai Sun in the centre of Prague and enjoy a massage by an experienced masseur. Your body will be in heaven and the procedure will charge you with new energy. You can also bust stress and find balance at the Zen Asian Wellness centre on Haštalská Street in the Old Town.

Shake off fatigue!

Perhaps you prefer fun in the water to massage? Even this can help you to unwind and relax. Just head for the Průhonice Aquapalace, the largest water park in central Europe. Here you’ll find a pool with a wave machine, a whirlpool, a massage jet and an exciting water funnel with a spacebowl, a sure-fire hit among the kids. The possibilities for water fun are endless. The experience is all the better for the fact that from the pool you can see into an aquarium containing various kinds of sea life, including a shark. Do you like to go to the sauna? Then drop by at Sauna World in Vysočany, where you can choose from traditional Finnish, honey and tropical saunas.

Dive into a beer spa

Did you know that Czech beer doesn’t just taste great, but also has curative effects? You can see for yourself at the beer spa on Masná Street. This original patented procedure, a combination of beer bath and an oat bed, has beneficial effects on the human body and helps soothe the mind. The main component in a beer bath is water heated to around 35oC containing the ingredients which go into beer – yeast, hops and malt. But this bath is one that doesn’t forget the taste buds. During the procedure you can drink as much beer as you like – for rehydration purposes of course.
