The core of the Protected Landscape Area that is situated on the area of 740 km2 at the height of 339 to 1 492 m above the sea level is the mountain range of the Hrubý Jeseník with Praděd (1 492 m), the highest mountain of Moravia. Winter Jeseníky offer excellent snow conditions, the best-known skiing centres include, e.g. Ovčárna at Praděd, Červenohorské sedlo or Ramzová (760 m), the highest situated express train station in central Europe.
