From the end of the 17th century to 1939 the castle was the property of the order of German Knights. During extensive re-building in the style of the German late-Gothic at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries Bouzov gained a fairy-tale form that is stressed by the romantic interiors with valuable equipment and rich painters', wood-carvers' and smiths' decoration. The dominant of the castle is the 58 m high castle watch-post.
