Premonstrates' Monastery in Želiv

The monastery founded in 1139 by count Soběslav was renewed in the style of Baroque Gothic by J. B. Santini. The sightseeing route includes the temple of the Birth of the Virgin Mary, the corridor of the Cross, refectory, capitular hall, library hall and other interiors. In Želiv there is one of the total of six breweries in the world that belong to the men's church order of the Trapists and brew the so-called trapistic beer.
