The Krkonoše (Giant Mountains)

Mine Kovárna in Obří důl

Inside Sněžka, the highest mountain of the Czech Republic, for centuries iron, arsenic and cooper were mined. The 140 m deep mine situated at the height of more than 1 000 m above the sea level has been accessible since 2004.  The sightseeing offers a view into the mined premises from the period from the 16th to the 20th century, in some places wooden bridges have been preserved, ladders and remnants of tools and miners' lamps.
