Jilemnice

The typical mountain small town with valuable historic core is the renowned gate of the western Krkonoše (Giant Mountains). Well-known and famous is the local skiing tradition thanks to which Jilemnice is marked the cradle of Czech skiing. Since 1894 the local sport skiing has been organized by the Český krkonošský spolek (Czech Giant Mountains Association) SKI, the oldest independent skiing association in the Czech lands.
