The estate was acquired, after the White Mountain, as confiscated property, by Albrecht of Wallenstein who moved his main seat to Mnichovo Hradiště. The Baroque chateau area includes, apart from the valuable theatre and Wallenstein library, also stables, riding school, salla terrene, French and English parks, Capuchin monastery, chapel of St. Ann with Wallenstein tomb and lapidary of Baroque sculptures in the church of the St. Three Kings.
