Relating to the marked dominant of the Polabská lowland is the legend about the arrival of primal father Čech. Situated at the top platform is the Romanesque rotunda of St. George, the first memorial of the Czech statehood built in memory of the victory of prince Soběslav in the battle at Chlumec in 1126. In 1868 broken out of the foothill of the mountain was the first foundation stone of the National Theatre in Prague.
