The spa colonnades are the places of calm walks and social life, accompanied by the inevitable drinking of thermal water. One of the most beautiful buildings of the town is the neo-Renaissance Mlýnská colonnade decorated by the sculptures of the twelve months. The Tržní colonnade is a modern copy of the original building of 1883, worth attention is also the restored Secession Zámecká colonnade located in the atrium of which is the stone relief of the Spirit of Springs; the legend says that he will fulfil the longed-for wish to the one who touches his nose. In the very centre of the town then there is the Vřídelní colonnade in the glassed pavilion of which the main spring of Karlovy Vary, Vřídlo, shoots up to the height of 12 m.
