Boubín Primeval Forest

The National Natural Preserve with the area of 666 ha in which the oldest forest giants reach the age of 300 – 400 years is situated on the south-eastern slope of the Boubín (1 362 m). The core of the primeval forest is the best preserved remnant of the so-called border deep forest, the original mountain forests of Šumava. The primeval forest is fenced, leading around its circumference is the 4 km long educational path, since spring, 2005 an observation tower is on the top of Boubín.
