The ring of verdure around the Prague Castle is formed today by seven gardens – historically the most valuable the Royal Garden, the modern garden areas at the building of the Riding School and Lumbe Gardens, demarcated for the Castle gardening, the area of the Upper and Lower Jelení Ditch and, especially the continuous garden belt under the southern façade that is created by the gardens Rajská and Na Valech, together with the miniature Hartigovská small garden and the garden Na Baště. From the seven Castle gardens at present five may be visited, the entry is free of charge.
