In the extraordinarily articulated landscape on the medium flow of the river Jizera the variety of natural beauties is connected with rich historic monuments and folk architecture. Famous are the local finding places of precious stones and valuable mineralogical expositions, jewel-makers‘ workshops and the tradition of cutting precious stones. The characteristic dominant and symbol of Český ráj (the Bohemian Paradise) is the ruin of the castle Trosky, the unique experiences include the seeing of the castle Kost and chateaus Hrubý Rohozec, Humprecht and Sychrov. In the labyrinths of the rock towns hidden are the ruins of the rock castles Drábské světničky, Frýdštejn and Vranov, attracting for visits are the towns Jičín, Mladá Boleslav, Mnichovo Hradiště and Turnov. An interesting place is also the spa Sedmihorky; they were the spa guests at that place who began to call that part of the country Český ráj (the Bohemian Paradise) in the 19th century already.
