The mountain range along the southwestern border of the Czech Republic represents the largest natural park of Central Europe. The most attractive places include the virgin forest of Boubín on the south-eastern slope of the mountain Boubín and the springs of the Vltava river. A jewel of the region is the town of Český Krumlov the historic core of which with the castle and the chateau is inscribed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. Attention deserve also the picturesque towns of Prachatice, Kašperské Hory, Sušice and Klatovy, the castles Kašperk, Rabí, Rožmberk, Švihov and Velhartice, monasteries in Vyšší Brod and Zlatá Koruna, the chateau in Horšovský Týn or the typical region of Chodsko with the town Domažlice.
